Time Management

Everybody says time management is important, and I know that, however, it seems to skip by me.  Or in other words, where does my day go?  And did I get everything done?

I keep a daily calendar ​and I write in important dates, it works pretty well.  But what about the rest of the day and the week?  I seem to be busy but I don't get everything done I want to.  I recently caught a Darren Hardy thing on the internet, and he stated the some of the most successful people have plenty of time to "play" because their work is all done, and their work is great and has helped many people.

So what I learned is to be super focused and not "drift".  Darren says drifting is when you start to do other things that are not part of that task that needs to be done.  Starting Sunday I'm going to have my "tasks" in order and focus one at a time.  so lets see how this works.

I Found Something I Like!

It’s been about a year since I posted last.  Mainly because I was in a transition, a transition of finding what I enjoyed.

I was a traditional business owner for almost 20 years, I survived the 2001 dot com bust, and the 2008 housing bust, as my business was affected by the economy.

So November 2016 I sold my business, I gave it away, and I did this to put myself in an uncomfortable spot, kind of my back against the wall.  I knew I had to do this or I would just be in the same thing for ever.

I bounced around a bit, from nutraceuticals, to inch loss lasers, to websites, to Facebook, to where I am today.  I really believe this is my home, as I am truly excited, and i’m happy and thinking of my future all the time.

My Opinion Is…. (and I am not an Expert)

Has anyone ever been solicited on the phone, at night at their home?  So I pickI have an opinion of what you should doed up that phone and a nice lady asked if I would participate, I asked will it take long?  She replied “No.”  Ok, so it’s on, lets take the survey.  Some of the questions came up on what I thought of the public schools, I told her I could not answer because I don’t have kids in school right now.  So she replies, well just “give me your opinion.”  I had to reply, “I don’t have opinions, they are unhealthy!”  I learned having no opinions from the Master Key Class, and because of the class, I learned to not have opinions on things I know nothing about.

So, she replied and said “well, that is what this survey is all about, your opinion.”  the survey went on for over 30 minutes, with some really bad questions and multiple choice answers that did not fit.  One of the questions was “How can we make the public schools better?  A) Increase the technology [computers etc.], B) Increase teachers salary, C) Make classes smaller, D) Have school last 12 months with no summer break?”  But, I struggled to get the survey done, and I did.  Whew!  what a process.

I called a few of my friends who also took the scholarship Master Key class, and everyone knows a mastermind of similar people, with similar thinking process get goals done, and we all agreed, and had similar experiences through the week on opinions.  Their opinion was to not have one.

So, what I have learned, and not from this call, but in past and the Master Key class, is to listen and not talk so much.  There is an old saying “Opinions are like Assholes, everyone has one!”  So do you really want to show yours to the world?

How to be Happy and Self Empowered

Depressed lifestyle thinking how to get better, think better, but first lets dig deep….

Depression and unhappiness starts with an event, a physical or mental event where we have an experience that brings us down a rabbit hole and we feed our brain with negativity, or an undesirable outcome.  I’m a small business owner and when the economy is good, i’m good, when the economy is bad, i’m not so good.  in 2015 I read a phrase “This too shall pass” from a book called “The Greatest Salesman in the World” by Og Mandino.  I have often been repeating this phrase “this too shall pass” when i’m stressed about business problems.

When I tell myself “this too shall pass” I’m telling my brain it’s ok and this won’t last long, in fact nothing lasts long anymore.  There is an old saying “Easy Come Easy Go.”  And over the past I have looked back and concluded it’s true that “This too shall pass.”  So, no worries here.

“FEAR” Fantasized Emotions Appearing Real.  So what is FEAR?  It’s just that, and we’ll go after that one in the next post.

Week 18 – Live this day as if it is my Last

What are our choices, to procrastinate or do it now?  Well, this is my second time through the Master Keys, and I have observed so much change in myself and in others.  We all know we are busy, life is tough in many ways, however every day we can decide how we think and what we do during our day.

Most people just go about their day as normal, and what is normal?  Normal seems just normal, daily stress, routines, and all the regular behaviors we don’t even realize we’re doing.

Once we realize what we are doing, we observe gratitude, kindness, love, now we are able to see this in everything, everyone, and everywhere all the time.  It feels good to recognize all these traits in people, and when we see the not so good traits, we give them a hug, either physically or mentally.  The hug is our way of helping them feel a little better, look at a brighter side of the day and that someone cares.

So, anyone reading this, my day is lived to the fullest.

Week 13 – Gratitude

gratitudeThis is my second time going through Master Keys.  The first time I was on it like white on rice, I did everything, so what happened to the last few posts here?  Got lazy, and a whole bunch of other excuses.  But I have been selecting and staying faithful to that.

This week is Gratitude, we give more then we get more, we are grateful for many things, and as this week goes, I am grateful for all the people who surround me, I am grateful for so many things, and I have some reminder index cards that I have gone through.

I am grateful for all the guides that keep us going, encourage us, and they are a product of Mark and Davene, who I owe lots of gratitude to from the grow 90 grow class, and the master keys, and of course the live events that have changed my life, and given me new purpose.

2 Week 7 – The Diet

Everyone says they want to go on a diet, usually when we hear the word “diet” we think of weight loss.  And most people aim towards a healthy diet, after all we are what we eat.

There is another diet, it’s called the “mental diet” which just as it sounds “mental diet” meaning our brain, our thoughts, what we think, and how we behave towards our selves and others.

I thought, sure must be easy.  I was wrong.  more than once!

We all have daily challenges, some we know are coming, and others jus hit us by surprise.  The ones that I know about I am prepared so I am mostly ready however they almost always go sideways.  Now the unexpected ones, well that is another story….  The best I can do is keep my mouth shut for just a little longer than normal, a pause, that almost always eliminates the “knee jerk” reaction and i’m able to remind myself of this mental diet.

1 Week 6 – love everyone

Love, as a male, “love” is kind of weird, but we all need it in one form or another.  I want to make sure I love myself, well, I do love myself, I like who I am, I like who I am becoming, and I want the best for everyone.

How do I love everyone else?  Some people are just rude to me, they are not polite, they have said some hurt things to some people I care about.  So how do I love them?

If I look “within” and observe I find that I can love everyone no matter what, so I do.  I may not remember that at the time, however I remember my day and ask myself did I do good or not?  Being honest with myself i’m not always loving, and I could have done better, but I forgive myself as I forgive all other people and I wish them well with Love!

4 Week 5 – Our place of peace

Peace: freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquility.”you can while away an hour or two in peace and seclusion”

synonyms: tranquility, calm, restfulness, peace and quiet, peacefulness, quiet,quietness

Let’s think of a peaceful place we have been, either a physical place or mental place.  Just sit back, close our eyes, be still….  Where are we?  Maybe on a beach some place, or in the forefront of some nice scenic spot that touches your heart, you can smell the surroundings, hear nature, or maybe it’s just perfectly quiet.

If we can give ourself “peace” and hold onto that, we can make some progress towards happiness and love.  Imagine, no worries, and all is good.  How would that feel?
